I’ve always wanted to be one of those people. You know the ones who seem to be in an amazing far off place that you’ve never heard of before but makes you super jealous because you’re stuck at work. One of them people. The free, fun loving fellows. Travelling is one of them life long loves that many people have but never get to achieve or don’t have the guts to. Well I’m one of those hopeless people who don’t have the guts to actually do it. Even though I want to travel so bad
There’s always been something I can convince myself is a good excuse not to put up my big girl pants on and see the world. It’s either relationships, needing to save for independence or work related stress. However, now I am free of all! I am at a point in my life that I have never been in before. First of all, I don’t have anyone who I feel I should put first, I have my own place and bought a new car AND i have a stable job with many many holidays to take in order to fulfil my travel needs.
It feels amazing but also feels so so scary.
I’m at a point where I have a once in a lifetime opportunity to choose to either spend my money on useless stuff and nights out every week or I can choose the opposite and see the world. I think, not surprisingly, I’m going to choose the world. And so it is decided. Scary.
One step at a time.
Choosing to travel is one hell of a scary thought and I am terrified. I will not lie. I have done my research but there’s so much more to be done before I take the big plunge and go for international travels. So, I have chosen to start easy. To start small. To stick with the UK for now. There’s nothing wrong with the UK but, lets be honest, it is not the most thrilling of places when you have been here for 24 years.
Increasing my confidence is the first step but then once this is established I am confident I can branch myself out more. I am so excited to see the world and meet so many new people. I have already done a bit of travelling through the UK but its time to ditch the company and tackle this one alone. Find myself and all that.
I already have some plans and am travelling down to London at the end of November and taking a trip to the opposite end of the country by visiting Edinburgh in February. It is all so exciting and I am so hoping that I enjoy it as much as I am anticipating to! Once I have tackled the main places I must see in England, I will be jetting off to Europe. Barring the fact that I need to experiment a bit closer to home with travelling, I am holding out to see what happens with the dreaded Brexit before I venture further.
I am making some plans and getting things together but there is still so much I need to know and to find out. Anyone out there been travelling before? Any tips and tricks you can give me? Don’t be shy and drop me a message! Any recommendations will be welcomed.
If you fancy travelling but feel like you don’t have the confidence, then I think you should have a spontaneous moment and book something, Trust me, if I can then anyone can. Don’t be jealous of ‘them people’, become ‘them people’. Don’t worry, many posts to follow and keep you updated on my travels! Hopefully I’ll make it through Europe soon.
